Day 1: Arrival Nairobi, Transfer Meru National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel or airport and depart with a scenic drive across the Equator via the central Kenya highlands to Meru National Park. Arrive at Meru in time for check in, lunch and some rest. Later proceed for afternoon game drives, the park is ideal for wildlife and birding watching safari. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.

Day 2: Full Day – Meru National Park

Early morning breakfast, then leave with a picnic lunch for extensive game drives in Meru National Park which was made famous through the story of Elsa the lioness of Born Free fame. Joy & George Adamson used to live here and it is here they raised and released Elsa the lioness to the wild. Explore the area, enjoying memorable wildlife encounters on your guided game drives. Wildlife here includes; Grevys zebras, elephants, Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, puff adders, cobras, buffalos and more than 427 recorded species of birds. The park has Rhino sanctuary for Black and White Rhinos. Enjoy the lush riverine forests, coursing rivers and in contrast the vast dry open plains dotted with baobabs. Meru is a totally unspoilt part of Kenya, revel in the remote and rugged atmosphere found here. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.

Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve

Meal Plan: – Fullboard
Enjoy early morning game drives before breakfast in the park to see the sunrise and another number of wildlife then return to the camp/lodge for a full breakfast, check out and leave for Samburu. Arrive in time for check in, lunch and some rest. Later you will depart for afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.

Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve

Today, the full day is dedicated enjoying the unique beauty of the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives along the banks of Ewaso Nyiro River. It is the home to the unique rare species only found north of equator that include the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryxes, giraffe necked gazelle (gerenuk), and the Blue-necked Somali Ostrich and it is also home to the big five, Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Endangered Wild Dog and others. After exploring the park visit the Samburu village. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.

Day 5: Depart, Transfer Nairobi

Optional: Meals/Dayroom
Rise early, enjoy your breakfast, and then proceed for a morning game drive. Later leave Samburu and drive back to Nairobi with lunch enroute arriving late afternoon and dropped off at your hotel or at the airport.
